Suburb Profile - Victoria Park
Victoria Park derives its name from "Victoria Park Estate", a development that took place here in the 1890's. It is believed the name was given to the estate because Queen Victoria was still on the throne, although it may be connected with the Melbourne suburb of Victoria Park Victoria Park was declared a municipality in 1897.
The Town of Victoria Park is a vibrant and diverse town situated just across from the Perth CBD. Victoria Park offers great cafés, restaurants and unique retail stores. Our neighbours are the Cities of Canning, Belmont and South Perth.
The Town is increasingly being sought after as a destination for residential properties and commercial developments. A thriving café culture has developed as part of the increased investment in the main street Albany Highway as well as the Causeway precinct and the Burswood Peninsula.
The suburbs local schools are: Victoria Park Primary School, Regent College and Kent Street S.H.S. but there are also many schools in surrounding areas.
The suburb is close to the Victoria Park train station and also has major bus routes through to the city. The suburb is definitely a gate way into the city with many people travelling through to work and to leisure activities.
Located just 5km from the Perth CBD. In recent times there has been plenty of residential and commercial development due to it’s popularity business owners have scrambled to get into the suburb to win over some of the more cultural and lifestyle savy residents. This area has proven to experience strong growth rates because of the proximity to the Perth CBD and whilst there are many modern developments, the area is better known for its classic character homes which attracts many buyers into the area that have an appetite to restore these old properties into a historic master piece. This suburb has experienced strong growth over the years and looks set to grow even more in the future.
